Artist and Educator,
Luzita is particularly interested in helping children bring form to their ideas and vision. She encourages her students to take chances with their art, follow their curiosity and fall in love with both the process and the product. They learn to engage and balance both their critical thinking side and their spontaneous nature. Luzita has taught art for 20 years to 4th–8th grade students at TOPS K-8 in the Seattle Public Schools. Her experience spans K-12. Every spring she curated the TOPS ArtFest, an art show of over 1000 student works. Her students have participated annually in the Seattle Public School Naramore Art Exhibit at the Seattle Art Museum, where they have won many awards in this juried show.
